The book focuses on sources and their role in the dissemination of knowledge. Architecture itself can act as a source, referencing or generating them. The book examines the plurality of sources and their significance within various systems of power. The four sections of the book deal with the inaccessibility of sources and how this can be addressed; the management of digital information and the associated evaluation; complex image and photograph collections and their handling in archives; and, finally, a critical examination of canons in architectural history.
